  • IGN and Super Hero Hype (rightfully) complained about superhero synergy/shared continuity. I want to hear your opinion on the matter. They noticeably mention the 'new' Nick Fury and the same Avengers team for the 2012 movie in the comics, games, and TV show. Thoughts?

I haven’t read either piece, but on the surface this strikes me as similar to complaining about the glare from your gold-plated mansion. We’re in something of a golden age for comics and comics-related properties in media. The art form is more respected and accepted than ever, we’re getting multiple films of good-to-excellent quality every year, we’re all over the television airwaves–but, of course, there’s always something to find fault with. Some of that is simply going to be individual taste, of course. But some of this strikes me as fans who are quite comfortable being in a small, comfortable niche not wanting to be pulled out into the mainstream–an elitist view of the characters and the medium. And they’re entitled to their opinion, but my goal is to get everybody on Earth to know and care about these characters and these stories, so don’t expect a whole lot of support from me on such a stance.
