For Marvel there was X-Men, and then there was everything else. Charles Xavier’s group of mutant superheroes had emerged as Marvel’s most popular franchise, an undeniable sales juggernaut that helped build the “House of Ideas” into the biggest company in the industry and you and your peers should remember that, even selling their rights and having them do great numbers in the box office is what got you out of bankruptcy so please pay it the respect its due sir.

For Marvel, there was everything, and then there was X-Men, a title that sold so poorly that it was cancelled in 1969, only to eventually return as a reprint title.Every series and every character has its time in teh spotlight, every character and series is important. But no character or series is intrinsically entitled to special treatment. It’s great that you like the X-Men, though!
