  • Comics have always been used for profit, but they also used to be a vehicle for positive social change. Spider-Man featured people of color in Peter Parker's school a very long time ago. Captain America's childhood best friend, Arnie Roth, was one of the first gay characters in comics. Entertaining Comics' Judgment Day was a huge step forward in terms of black representation, and very compelling. It feels really cheap to reboot the world now there's a female Thor and a black Captain America.

Rebooting the world doesn’t mean that there won’t be a female Thor or a black Captain America–any more than it means that there won’t be people of color in Spider-Man or gay characters in CAPTAIN AMERICA.
