  • Hey Mr B; when doing something like (presumably) choosing a new Avengers writer, does editorial prefer to just select someone based on their past/current work, or ask a whole bunch of writers to pitch what they would do with such a flagship title?

    Depends on the circumstances, but typically when a mainstay assignment opens up, there is no lack of interested parties from among our upper echelon of creators. So they we start looking at things like workload, and who we think will bring to the series whatever might be missing from it while maintaining whatever seems to be working. Then we have conversations and get pitches and eventually put somebody into the chair.
