Yo Tom ; "AVENGERS and NEW AVENGERS have perhaps been under-appreciated up till now. " Really? What makes you say that? Is it sales numbers? Just took a quick glance and it's still up there in the rankings and I only hear praise for those 2 books whenever I'm at conventions or LCS and I know talk doesn't translate into dollars but your use of under appreciated has me confused and would like your point of view on why you think its under appreciated and as compared to what if any?
It’s simply the zeitgeist. For several months, all we heard was how those books didn’t feel like AVENGERS, and how things were moving too slowly and people didn’t understand what was going on or were bored by it. Which is understandable–the same thing happened with Jonathan’s FANTASTIC FOUR.
The further in we’ve gone, the more people have started to see the whole picture and become interested again. But really, TIME RUNS OUT has been the turning point of the run.
