I've been reading a lot of silver age stuff on mdcu, and I think that john buscema was the most influential artist on the marvel house style. It really feels like the 70s artists all followed him, all the way to hitch and epting. Thoughts?
John Buscema was hugely influential, no question. Especially through his HOW TO DRAW COMICS THE MARVEL WAY book.
I tend to think that Marvel’s house look in the 70s was dominated more by John Romita, though, at least in terms of the surface look, the licensing artwork, and the flavor and polish of the covers.
