Do you guys keep track of how many people actually redeem those 'free digital copy' codes that are included in each printed comic book? And does that information count towards the overall success of a series? Or is it just considered a freebie that has no real bearing on whether or not a book will get cancelled? Also, what's the purpose of asking for the name of the comic shop that I bought the book from? Does my LCS get some kind of special perks from Marvel when those codes are redeemed?
Redeeming the digital codes doesn’t have any bearing on the success or failure of a book–those are a bonus in the tangible copies, it’s the sale of those physical books that counts in that case. And yes, your LCS gets a little piece of the pie when those codes are redeemed through copies sold by them.
