I think it’s maybe just a matter of one element too many in the Black Racer. The Surfer is silly, but he’s streamlined, so you can look past it. But the Black Racer not only has the skis, he’s got the ski poles, ad the armor, and the armor is in a strange melange of primary colors–it’s just too much.
