It's all without any purpose, and is as if it were all just a video game where the main characters get resurrected with every "Continue?" you hit. The Ultimates universe was the only place with some conviction, well, that is until Bendis (and whomever else) compromised that wonderful ideal by bringing Parker and Osborne back.
