Employees would prefer to have accurate information, rather than half-assed speculation. Causing panic and terror among the ranks of DC’s staff wasn’t in any way doing those people a service. Believe me, I’ve spoken to many of them (some of whom work for Marvel now.)
That thing was “broken” by a rumor site something like fifteen months before anything was even going to be happening, and before there was any sort of a solid plan in place. So when questions were asked and people were panicked, the proper information wasn’t even available.
Now, who do you think should be providing all of that information? The people who are making those decisions for that company? Or a rumor-monger who heard about it through the grapevine and felt like doing a drive-by on a whole lot of people’s lives for the sake of getting attention and getting webpage hits?
You don’t want to hear about the future of your job from me, a know-nothing who has no solid information about what you do and what’s going to be happening in your future. You want to hear about it from your managers, through your chain of command, and with the answers that you’ll need to be able to make the life-decisions that you’ll need to make. And at a time when the information is ready. This isn’t a case where DC was going to be moving in a week and a half, we’re talking about 15 months here.
