Right now I'm seeing a lot of hate for the Ultimate Fantastic Four. Was this series as reviled back in the day as it is now or do fans just hate it because Fox is making it?

I’m not really seeing a lot of hate for it myself, but no. It was considered as well as any of the other Ultimate books during that time.
