Why the dodgy language? Marvel has strategic mandates based around the characters to which Disney/ABC/ESPN/Mickey/Whatever-Name-They-Want-To-Use-On-A-Tuesday-Night has the movie-rights and that's the end of it. All pretense otherwise is entirely inane. Example: Ant-Man movie? Need Ant-Man book! That's how decisions are made at Marvel now and most people know this. No Disney movie = less support for that property. What's the big idea behind not just saying this straight up? It's not a secret.
You’re one of what Peter David used to refer to as “so-called experts”, people who believe that they have an understanding of the business and what motivates certain decisions, but who really don’t–and yet cannot in any way be dissuaded from the opinions they hold.
You might as well be asking me how Santa Claus delivers all those presents on Christmas eve, and any answer I give you isn’t going to shake your belief in Santa. So we’re at an impasse here.
