  • Tom, you said IRON PATRIOT was a 5 issue miniseries... if you don't mind can I ask 3 questions? 1) Why was it not solicited as a 5 issue miniseries, 2) Why did the cover not say it was "1 out of 5" and 3) Why does the Trade Paperback have a number on the spine saying "Vol. 1" in a time when you are shying away from numbering trades. It seems as if you may have gotten confused or trying to hide the fact the series got underwhelming sales

No, you’re just pointing at the pieces of circumstantial evidence that support your already-decided-upon position.

But if you look at, for example, other recent limited series, such as WINTER SOLDIER: THE BITTER MARCH, you’ll see that nowhere on that book does it say “Of 5”. I don’t have the collection right on hand, but I would not be at all surprised if it had a Vol 1 on its spine–any collection that’s the first in its category tends to carry that. And it wasn’t solicited as a limited series because that was an oversight on the part of the person who wrote up that original solicit. But there was an update sent to Diamond thereafter indicating this fact.

To say nothing of the fact that a bunch of different people said that it was a limited series publicly at every opportunity.
