If the adjective is Fantastic in the Fantastic Four then why do they refer to themselves that way? Shouldn't they be called the Four. Like the X-Men rather then the Uncanny X-Men or the Avengers rather then the Mighty Avengers. Or Spider-Man rather then the Superior Spider-Man?

In the case of Fantastic Four, the adjective is also a part of the proper name.
