New Brevoort Formspring

Is it just me, or have Marvel and DC:s superhero output steadily gotten worse - a few bright exceptions notwithstanding - over the years? I just can't bother to care about most of it anymore, and I miss that.

I think that probably has more to do with you and getting older than it does with the quality of the output of either company.
At all points in the publishing history, both companies have published some very good material and some crap. The ratio sometimes changes, but it’s never been absolutely just one or the other.
But tastes change, and it’s difficult to recapture that feeling of limitless possibility that exists in the earliest comics you read–regardless of whether you read them in 2005, 1995, 1985, 1975, 1965 or whenever.
