I first met Stan around 1979, at an appearance at Cartoonerville, a short-lived comic strip museum in Long island. But I was just a fan and a kid then. As a professional, I spoke with him over teh phone working on stuff like the adaptation of the never-released CAPTAIN AMERICA movie circa 1991, and would have met him face-to-face on one of his drop-in visits to teh Bullpen back during that era.
