  • Certain characters have become super popular in the past 10 years (ie GoG, Jessica Drew, Carol Danvers) while other characters have remained in relative obscurity (ie Monica Rambeau, Quasar). Do you think the rise in popularity of characters like GoG or Jessica was inevitable because of their strengths as characters, or does it take a writer like Brian Bendis to make them big? Do you think a top writer can make any character big or do some characters just not have the right stuff? Thanks, Paul

I think it was the right creators doing the right stories with eh right characters at the right time. Because Jessica and Carol and the Guardians had all been around for literally decades, and nobody cared about them any more than Quasar or Monica, until they did. That’s all down to the stories that were done with them and how they were used by the people who crafted those stories.
