  • In the 'old' days, comics came out every month on time, no matter what. Sometimes, in the middle of a storyline, there'd be a fill-in issue for some reason. that still happen these days? Or do you push the issue back? Do you still have an emergency drawer like then to get the comic out?

    That’s not entirely true. Comics were late back in the day as well, there just wasn’t any release schedule or internet to tell you when they were supposed to come out. And even when you did know, they’d sometimes be late.

    But yes, for times of catastrophic failure, there were fill-in issues.

    These days, though, the distribution and the requirements of both the audience and the retailers are different, so fill-in issues aren’t typically anywhere near the best alternative. So it’s rare to see an actual fill-in issue get produced and used these days.
