  • Have there ever been any costume designs that, while working for fiction, have bugged you from a functional sense? Such as, say, Spidey's eyes growing or Terry McGinnis' Batman mouth? Care to share?

    No more so than the fact that human beings can fly, or walk up walls.

    There have been costumes that I thought were ugly–there’s a Thor costume from the mid-90s that’s a good example of that–but that’s not really what you’re talking about.

    Virtually every super hero costume is ridiculously impractical. but this is fantasy, it’s part of the buy-in, so worrying too much about how some of this stuff works is counter-productive, i think.

    So, yeah, Batman has no peripheral vision whatsoever. But it’s fine, it works, don’t worry about it.
