  • Do you attribute the continued success of CIVIL WAR to having Cap Vs. Iron Man on the cover? Like that's an exquisitely simple image that anyone can look at now and think "Gee, I wonder what *that's* about...", despite all the "Hero Vs. Hero" formspring complaints. If so, it bodes well for CAP 3 and DAWN OF JUSTICE.

    No, I think CIVIL WAR works because it operates on two levels at once, and both are still of interest to people.

    On the most basic level, it’s a hero vs hero story, a who’s-stronger story–and those are always of interest.

    Simultaneously, it taps into the zeitgeist not only of that moment but of the 21st Century, as it makes that conflict about individual privacy vs the security of an organized society. And those are still issues that are at the forefront of the national discourse to this day.
