As a follow up to the Richard Ryder question. Do you feel as though the depiction of the Nova Corps in Guardians of the Galaxy was also a concious result on the part of the MCU production team of wanting to avoid accusations of Lantern Corps rip-offery?
Couldn’t tell you. I imagine that they did what they thought was right for their film, and fit the tone and the style of it. My guess–and it’s only a guess–is that they would have done the same regardless of what we had been doing in publishing, as the world they created in GUARDIANS doesn’t really seem like one that has a cadre of flying space-cops in it.
But the filmmakers could answer this much better and more precisely than I could.
