"CONAN: THE AVENGERS was the title of one of the paperback compilations of the original Robert E Howard Conan stories, so this title doesn’t really have much of anything to do with Loki and et al." But of all the things to call it, aren't they using that specific title for a reason? Isn't Dynamite publishing a book called THE AVENGER to take advantage of the same popularity, and if both publishers trick a few people into buying it for the wrong reasons, them's just the breaks?

I don’t think that’s true in either case, actually.
If you’re publishing THE AVENGER, why would you call it anything else?
And the reason you’re publishing it likely has more to do with you also publishing THE SHADOW and DOC SAVAGE and THE SPIDER.
Same thing with using an old paperback title on a CONAN project.
In both cases, precious few people are going to be fooled into buying the thing in any case. The people who will seek them out are more likely going to be readers interested in Richard Benson and Conan, respectively.
I’m happy enough to call out the competition when they do something like this, but I don’t believe this is that.
