  • In response to the person who said your mother has to be Jewish in order for you to be Jewish: that's according to Judaism itself, not according to independent ideas of ethnicity, cultural identity, or religious practice. If your father is Jewish and your mother isn't, Jewish law doesn't consider you a Jew, but your ethnic heritage is half-Jewish and your cultural identity and religion are up for grabs. (Not to mention, half-Jewish was more than enough for Hitler to go after you.)
