  • I just noticed in last weeks Spidermsn 2099 Miguel is speaking to his brother and the reply was attached to Miguels word bubble. You previously said a finished copy goes through many editors who to be fair are payed to pay attention. Now for me this was instantly jarring and comfusing. I know mistakes happen but how? I mean this just feels like everyones just sleep walking through their job. Maybe cheaper comics with one really good editor who does his job is the way forward.

It happens in the same way you typed “Spidermsn 2099”.

As we’ve talked about before, there are a million different moving pieces in every comic book, and everybody is working on multiple different comics every day, every week.

Comics are made by human beings, and that means that there are going to be mistakes. Always have been, always will be. You never get to see the hundreds of corrections that get made, you only see the small amount of errors that make it to the printed page.

We should always do our utmost to prevent any kind of mistake from happening, absolutely. But that’s not going to change the fact that sometimes “Spidermsn 2099” is going to happen.

And you think having less money to pay people and having fewer people is going to make this situation better? Does that really seem likely?
