Hi Tom, when a book is not selling well & is looking like it may face cancellation, does editorial or anyone step in to suggest changes to the book like line up (additions, eliminations), storyline, writer, artist? I ask because I'm thinking that a book like X-Factor, and I guess now X-Force, have a built in following. If changes are made that could possibly keep it going wouldn't that be beneficial? You keep your current buyers and hopefully add new. Thanks
Sometimes, yes, depending on the particular book.
But in the case of something like X-FACTOR or X-FORCE, it’s very difficult to change the sales trajectory of a book like that mid-stream. You’d likely have better luck going back to ground and then launching a new iteration of X-FACTOR or X-FORCE, rather than trying to implement sweeping changes on the fly.
