Thanks for confirming you're not releasing previews for Avengers and New Avengers - I was going crazy looking for 'em. Of course, their solicits are bare. I'm wondering though - why not do that for more books? Is the level of spoiler simply too much in these particular book? Does the fact that they're "big" books mean that you can get away with it without impacting sales/hype? I know you don't like solicits - something like Amazing Spider-Man would still do well with blank solicits, no?

There are arguments all up and down the boards as to whether previews help the sales of a book or hurt them, both short term and long term. I know what I believe, but other folks believe different things–and there’s no conclusive evidence one way or the other.

For Time Runs Out, since anything that you might say in the solicits is a defacto spoiler, not giving detailed solicits and not running previews is a bit easier. The real question is what that will do to orders and sales. If it hurts them, then we’ll need to go back to giving previews. If sales remain the same or seem to go up, then perhaps we’ll do fewer previews.
