  • It might not have gone for easy-Eisner bait experimental issues or had Aja art to spackle over it's flaws, but IMHO Superior Foes was the equal of Hawkeye in quality and consistency, and there will be a Sinister 6 (5?)-sized hole in your publishing calendar every month. I look forward to seeing what Spencer does w- Ant-Man, but man, it's a shame that it never got the hype that Clint Barton got. Do you think the title hurt it (& might it come back with a better name?) Any chance of an Omnibus?

I think that, if anything, a title that had a huge SPIDER-MAN logo in it was a much larger asset than a title that had HAWKEYE in it. Remember, until this current iteration, Hawkeye was hardly a sales powerhouse.

Glad you enjoyed SUPERIOR FOES. No plans for it to return under some other name, but hopefully you will enjoy Nick’s ANT-MAN. I do take issue with your description of “easy Eisner-bait experimental issues”, as those issues are neither easy to produce nor does an Eisner award really do anything for your sales. You don’t need to knock one book to boost another one. And the hype that you’re talking about comes from you guys, the audience, not from us–if SUPERIOR FOES didn’t get it, it’s because more people were knocked out by HAWKEYE, or whatever else.
