  • since Battleboards have such impossible standards of categorizations and comparison between characters, do you think that Handbooks stats, given how loosely fitting they also tend to be in the real comics, should be taken away, insofar they add to the fuel? how about the various "threat level scales" that always get thrown out at any crisis, like omega, alpha plus, etc, are they a better way to assuage the range of characters? Why "rank" them at all?

    Things get ranked because people like rankings; there’s really no more to it than that.

    But I don’t think that we should do away with the rankings because there are some fans who feel too strident about them.

    I think Battleboards are fine and fun for those readers who like to debate those kinds of questions. It’s really a comic book tradition.

    My point has always been, though, that it’s not a discussion I’m terribly interested in,and so I don’t deal with those sorts of questions here.
