You don't have to post this, but I need to vent. As a longtime reader of Marvel (for over 40 years now), I have to say there are two awful developments going on. First is Spider-Man. Losing his wife of 20 years was cheap and ridiculous. I can't stand Dan Slott's work, and his Dr. Octopus schlock was insulting nonsense. Second is Captain Marvel. Carol Danvers is Ms. Marvel and always will be in my mind. Captain Marvel is a dead Kree guy. Let him rest in peace, and give the name back to DC.

You feel the way that you feel, and so that’s valid for you.
But I think that, in general, there are more readers who are happy with Dan’s Spider-Man work and with Carol being Captain Marvel than not. So you can understand why we wouldn’t be in a huge rush to change either of them.
