    Well, first off, your post implies that the artist in question is just screwing around and not getting his work done, and that’s typically far from the case in these situations. I think it’s very easy for people who don’t know the truth of such matters to be off-handedly cruel and condemnatory without knowing what they’re doing.

    Now, as to your question, it depends on any number of facts, including how important that particular book is to our overall publishing plan, whether bringing in another artist is likely to hurt sales in a major way, where we are in our overall financials for the quarter and the year, how strongly we feel about the artistic ethos of the series in question, and so forth. You can find us bringing in other artists to help on an issue fairly routinely, so when we don’t do that in a certain case, there tends to be a reason for it.
