Batman has been in the top 3 for many, many months now as it seems... What would you say, how much of that can be contributed to the character and how much to the writer Scott Snyder? I simply don't it being a 50/50, or even a 70/30...

I think you’ve overlooking the tremendous draw power of Greg Capullo in your thinking.

And the magic equation is Characters + Creators + Concept. That’s what makes a book that’s working go, regardless of what book it happens to be. So all of those things factor in. Whereas, on another Batman title, say DETECTIVE COMICS, one or more of those elements isn’t as strong, and so it doesn’t perform quite as well.
