Very rarely does book-to-book continuity get in the way of the story for me, but Cap and the Mighty Avengers appears to take place "between the pages" of AXIS, and I can't seem to reconcile this. I can't help but think Sam would be staying pretty on-mission throughout the timeline of AXIS, rather than detouring into the events of CA&MA.

Sorry that it troubles you. But Sam is certainly “on mission” in CA&MA, at least in so much as there’s a mission to be on.
