I've read several posts on your tumblr about how someone doesn't like a certain storyline or artist and then I'll see one from another person that loves the very same story and artist. You've always made a point of saying that what one reader hates, another will love. So with that in mind, does an editor ever make decisions based on how they perceive the quality of the work to be or is everything purely done from a mechanical aspect i.e. is it meeting deadline, typos, continuity, etc. Thanks!

Yes, absolutely. Nobody goes about putting out books that they don’t like, at least not intentionally. There’s always a creative x-factor that can make something not work, but as a general rule, our editors are trying to produce the best books they can, and books that would appeal to them as readers. So they are definitely guided by the quality of the work.
