New Brevoort Formspring

hi! I'm trying really hard to follow the "inversion" storyline in Axis. Can you help me understand if the inversion only affects certain people who were AT the battle? Was EVERYONE who was there affected? Not sure if some of the characters were supposed to be acting "inverted" afterward or if that's just their normal behavior.
