"Well, there are a lot of players and a limited amount of pages, so that’s going to happen with certain characters in certain issues." Yeah, but Marvel is clearly trying to push the Inhumans as a big franchise. This was a chance to make people who don't care about the Inhumans more interested, but since all you did was put her on a cover and she has no plot importance ot cool moments, fans aren't going to be motivated to find out more about the Inhumans, it's a wasted oportunity.
This will shock you perhaps, but the purpose of our stories is to tell stories more than it is to carry out an agenda, any agenda. We try very hard not to force people to tell stories that they don’t want to tell.
If Rick had huge things he wanted to do with the Inhumans in AXIS, then that would be fine–and there is more stuff to come. But forcing them to be a central part of it when they don’t have a particular role in the story isn’t a good way to make them more prominent–it’s rather a good way to feature them in a big way in a story that doesn’t work. And that doesn’t accomplish the underlying goal that you’re talking about.
