Apart from the work that editors and group editors do to keep the books straight, is there a person or persons that cover and correct continuity across the entire line? Regardless of the answer how do I apply for that job?

Well, there’s the researchers of our Marvel Handbooks, but that’s after the fact and not really what you’re talking about.

No, there isn’t such a person, because as an aspect of what we do, while continuity is nice, it is a tool that exists in the service of the stories, not the other way around. No bad story was ever made good by applying stricter continuity, but plenty of stories were made worse by forcing them to do backflips in order to do the most basic storytelling.
