Is it fair to say that the reason the last few X-Force books have sank is because fan favorite characters like Deadpool and Wolverine have been removed in favor of writer's pets like Cable, Domino and Marrow?

It’s funny, because the next fan behind you would consider Wolverine and Deadpool pet characters.
That said, yeah, that probably had something to do with it.
